Hi, welcome to The 99 Bar web site, thanks for stopping by!  We're located immediately outside Osan Air Base in the Songtan district of Pyongtaek City in South Korea and opened in November 2004.  Check out the map on the next page for a good visual on our location.  Many people have asked, "How did you come up with the name, "The 99 Bar?"  Well, to be honest, there's really no deep, defining story that brought us to the name, "The 99 Bar."  Necessity being the Mother(s) of Invention, we bounced around LOTS of ideas trying to come up with a name in a very short period of time, but always came back to the idea of using numbers in our name, especially "99," which begot us Barbara Feldon's cool "Agent 99" character on the old "Get Smart" TV show; The Great One, #99, Wayne Gretzky; and finally, a cool Keith Richards song ("999") from his "Main Offender" CD, and voila, you've got yourself a name. Turns out it's pretty easy to translate into Korean as well.

Our vision for The 99 remains the same; a pub-style establishment with quality draft beer, live music, darts & pool as well as concerts, movies and live sports events on the "large screen." All in all, a place we ourselves would frequent whenever we're out on the town. We pledge to continually strive to improve The 99 to make it an enjoyable, friendly place for everyone and sincerely appreciate your comments and suggestions, which are instrumental in shaping The 99 into a place you want to come to.
